Your new tint is curing. Here’s how to treat it.
Thanks for trusting OCD with your vehicle. Film takes a few weeks to fully bond to the glass. A little patience now keeps it flawless for years.
Water pockets and a light haze are a normal part of curing. Please allow the appropriate drying and cure time — and keep your windows up for the first 2 days.
Do
- ✓Clean the inside of the glass with an ammonia-free cleaner only. Invisible Glass, Sprayway, or plain soap and water all work.Ammonia (found in most blue glass cleaners) breaks down tint over time.
- ✓Use a soft microfiber towel. Wipe gently, side to side.
- ✓Give the film 30 days before you judge it. What looks like a flaw in week one is usually gone by week four.
- ✓Keep your receipt. It is required for lifetime warranty claims.Take a photo of it now so it’s always on your phone.
Don’t
- ✕Don’t roll the windows down for 48 hours after installation.
- ✕Don’t rub, poke or try to squeegee water bubbles. Touching them can leave a permanent mark.
- ✕Don’t use large suction cups on tinted glass (phone mounts, dash cams, sunshades).Prolonged suction-cup use can lift or damage the film. Use a vent or dash mount instead.
- ✕Don’t use ammonia-based cleaners, abrasive pads or razor blades on the inside of the glass.
Your warranty
XPEL PRIME window films carry a lifetime limited warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, discoloration and delamination. Keep your receipt, and if you ever see something that doesn’t look right, bring it by. We installed it, so we’ll take care of it.
